ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new training program to help medical residents improve their skills in using ultrasound to guide spinal anesthesia, which is a common procedure used for pain relief during surgeries. The researchers want to see if a special learning module, which includes watching video sequences of spinal anatomy, can make it easier for residents to recognize the right images when performing ultrasounds. Participants will be split into two groups: one will receive immediate feedback on their choices, while the other will not. This will help the researchers understand how effective the learning module is.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be first to fourth-year residents in the anesthesiology program at Université de Montréal and should not have performed more than five spinal ultrasounds. They should also be familiar with using ultrasound and be willing to participate. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and those who join can expect to take a pre-test, watch training videos, and then complete a post-test to see how much they've learned. This study aims to enhance medical education and improve the skills of future anesthesiologists.
