ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how echocardiography (a special ultrasound for the heart) can help doctors manage critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The main goal is to find out how using echocardiography affects the health outcomes of these babies, including their chances of survival and how quickly they can stabilize after being treated for heart-related issues. The trial is currently recruiting participants who are newborns aged 0 to 28 days and are showing signs of serious health problems.
To be eligible for the study, the baby must be admitted to the NICU at Sohag University Hospital and show signs of being unstable or critically ill, regardless of their weight or gestational age. However, babies with certain heart conditions, like congenital heart disease (except for some minor issues), won't be included in the trial. Families participating can expect close monitoring and care during the study, with echocardiography being used as part of the treatment plan to help their baby recover.
