ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving the care of patients with gout, a painful form of arthritis, after they visit the emergency department (ED). Gout is becoming more common, especially among people in the Southeastern U.S., and this study aims to provide better treatment both during painful flare-ups and for long-term management. The trial also seeks to involve more minority groups in medical research, especially those in the Deep South.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be 18 years or older, able to understand and communicate in either English or Spanish, and have had a confirmed gout flare during their ED visit. However, if someone is already part of another study that focuses on a different type of treatment, they won't be eligible. Participants can expect to learn more about managing their gout and receive support during their treatment journey. Overall, this study is designed to enhance gout care and improve health outcomes for those affected by this condition.
