ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), a condition affecting the hip joint, impacts walking. The study will analyze various walking patterns, such as speed and step length, in patients who have FAI and are scheduled for hip surgery. Researchers will also look at imaging results from X-rays to see how they relate to these walking patterns, comparing FAI patients with healthy individuals. The goal is to understand how FAI affects movement, which can help doctors create better treatment plans.
To participate in this trial, individuals aged between 18 and 75 who have been diagnosed with femoroacetabular impingement and are set to undergo hip arthroscopy may be eligible. However, those with severe hip arthritis, certain hip joint conditions, or prior hip surgeries may not qualify. Participants can expect assessments of their walking patterns and related imaging studies, all aimed at improving understanding and treatment of FAI.
