ClinConnect Summary

The Video Classification of Intubation in Spain (VCI) trial is studying how to improve the process of intubation, which is the insertion of a tube into the windpipe to help patients breathe during surgery. This research aims to better understand and classify cases of difficult intubation, which can sometimes be a challenge for doctors. The trial is currently recruiting participants aged 65 to 74 years who are planning to have scheduled surgery at a hospital in Spain between 2024 and 2025.

To be eligible, participants must be at least 18 years old and come from any part of the Iberian Peninsula. If you join the study, you will help researchers learn more about the intubation process, which could lead to better care for future patients. It’s important to know that your participation is voluntary, and you can ask questions at any time to understand what being a part of the trial involves.
