ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the EVAMMACH study, is looking at how a special program called the "Chronic Disease Unit" can help obese patients feel more confident in managing their weight and health. Obesity is a growing health issue that affects many people, and the goal of this study is to see if the care offered by this unit can support patients in making positive changes in their lives. The program focuses on teaching patients about their condition and encouraging them to take an active role in their treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, and be able to speak and understand French. They should be referred to the study by a healthcare professional or identified by the network. Participants can expect to engage in a supportive environment where they will learn valuable skills to help them manage their obesity. However, certain individuals, such as those with severe psychiatric disorders or those currently pregnant, may not be eligible to join. Overall, this trial aims to empower patients in their health journey and improve their ability to manage their obesity effectively.
