ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding and predicting a condition called right ventricular dysfunction (RVD) that can happen after heart surgery. RVD means the right side of the heart doesn't work as well as it should, which can lead to problems with blood flow and overall heart function. The researchers want to create a special scoring system that helps identify patients who might be at higher risk for developing RVD after their surgery. By knowing who is at risk, doctors can provide better monitoring and care tailored to those patients.
To participate in this study, individuals should be over 18 years old and scheduled for elective or urgent heart surgery at Campus BioMedico between January 2016 and December 2023. They should also be able to have an echocardiogram (a heart ultrasound) after their surgery. However, people under 18 years old or those who are receiving certain heart medications during their surgery cannot take part in this trial. If you join the study, you can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve outcomes for future heart surgery patients.
