ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a specific method of resuscitation, called sustained cord circulation, might help newborns who need immediate care after being born by emergency Cesarean section. The main question the researchers want to answer is whether this method can reduce the number of babies who need to be admitted to neonatal care, which is a special unit for newborns who need extra help. They will compare this new approach with standard resuscitation practices to see which one leads to better health outcomes for the babies.
To participate in the trial, babies must be born alive as singletons (not twins or multiples), be at least 37 weeks old, and have been delivered via emergency Cesarean section where a pediatric team is present. Unfortunately, babies with major congenital or genetic disorders that could affect their care cannot join. If eligible, participants will receive one of the two types of resuscitation and will be closely monitored for their health and any need for additional care. This study aims to find better ways to support newborns in critical situations, which could help improve their chances of a healthy start to life.
