ClinConnect Summary
The Cognitive Health Awareness Program in Surgical Patients is a clinical trial aimed at helping older adults understand and manage their brain health, especially before undergoing surgery. The focus is on providing education about cognitive impairment, which is a decline in mental abilities. This study will test whether a web-based education program can improve patients' knowledge about brain health and help them prepare better for surgery and potential complications afterward.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be 60 years or older, scheduled for non-cardiac surgery, and able to understand and provide consent in English. They should also have basic computer skills. Participants will take part in an online program designed to increase their understanding of brain health and how it relates to their surgical experience. By joining this study, patients can gain valuable information that may empower them to take charge of their cognitive health during this important time in their lives.
