ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Neuroendocrine Regulation of Bone-Fat Crosstalk in Obesity," is designed to explore how certain hormonal issues may affect bone health in people with obesity. The researchers want to understand the connection between hormones produced by the pituitary gland and how they influence both fat and bone health. The study aims to include adults aged 18 and older with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, which classifies them as obese. Eligible participants may have specific pituitary conditions like prolactinoma or Cushing's disease or may not have any pituitary issues at all.
If you decide to participate, you'll be asked to sign a consent form to confirm that you understand the study. While the trial is not yet recruiting, it is important to note that individuals under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with a BMI below 30 cannot participate. This study hopes to shed light on how obesity and hormonal imbalances can affect bone health, which is crucial for overall well-being.
