ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment called the polymeric hydrogel matrix (PHM) to help manage air leaks that can occur during minimally invasive lung surgery for lung cancer. Sometimes, after surgery, air can escape from the lung, causing complications if it lasts too long. The trial aims to find out if using PHM can reduce the chances of these air leaks and shorten the time patients need to have a chest drain (a tube that helps remove air or fluid) and their overall hospital stay.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be over 18 years old and undergoing a specific type of lung surgery called segmentectomy using a minimally invasive technique (either video-assisted or robotic surgery). They should not have any allergies to the materials used in the PHM. If you or someone you know is interested, participants can expect careful monitoring and support throughout the study, and the trial is currently recruiting patients. This could be an opportunity to contribute to important research that may improve recovery for future lung surgery patients.
