ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a protein called Gasdermin D behaves in patients with generalized vitiligo, a condition that causes loss of skin color. The researchers want to see how Gasdermin D levels change in patients who have received narrow-band ultraviolet B therapy, a common treatment for vitiligo. They will compare these levels to those in healthy individuals and explore if there’s a link between Gasdermin D levels and how long someone has had vitiligo or how much of their skin is affected.
To participate in this study, individuals aged 10 to 75 with stable vitiligo for at least six months may be eligible. However, people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have recently undergone certain treatments like phototherapy or immunosuppressive medications will not be allowed to join. Participants can expect to undergo some tests to measure Gasdermin D in their skin, which will help researchers better understand the role of this protein in vitiligo. It’s important to note that the study is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be a little wait before it officially begins.
