ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring two different techniques of dry needling, a treatment used to relieve pain, in patients with a specific type of muscle pain called myofascial pain syndrome affecting the upper trapezius muscle, which is located in the upper back and neck area. The researchers want to find out whether one technique is more effective than the other in reducing pain, improving daily activities, and enhancing quality of life.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between the ages of 20 and 50 and have been diagnosed with myofascial pain syndrome in the upper trapezius muscle. They should not have received any recent treatments for their pain in the last three months, and certain medical conditions or previous injuries may disqualify them. If eligible, participants can expect to receive either of the two dry needling techniques, guided by ultrasound, and will be asked to provide feedback on their pain levels and daily functioning throughout the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and anyone interested should consider discussing it with their healthcare provider for more information.
