ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the National Network for Cardiovascular Genomics, aims to gather important information about hereditary heart diseases in Brazil. It will create a registry that collects both health and genetic data from patients diagnosed with various types of heart conditions, such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and Marfan syndrome. The main purpose is to understand which genes are commonly linked to these conditions and how often these genetic changes happen in the Brazilian population. Participants will be interviewed during their regular doctor visits, and a sample of their DNA will be taken to look for any genetic alterations.
To be eligible for this study, individuals must have a clinical diagnosis of a hereditary heart disease and agree to receive genetic counseling. They will also need to sign a consent form and provide necessary information. Participants can expect to be part of a significant effort to improve our understanding of these diseases, which could potentially lead to better treatments in the future. Importantly, the trial is not yet recruiting participants, so if you or someone you know is interested, it’s best to keep an eye out for updates.
