ClinConnect Summary

The LOCATOR trial is a study that is exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can help doctors plan radiation treatment for breast cancer patients. Specifically, it looks at whether using AI for "contouring" – which is the process of outlining the area that needs treatment – is as good as the traditional method where a radiation oncologist does it by hand. The trial is also checking if using AI can save doctors time during this process.

To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for treatment for breast cancer. You should be in generally good health, as determined by a standard performance scale, and be able to understand and sign a consent form. If you join the study, you will be part of a group that is actively helping researchers learn more about the use of AI in cancer care. This could potentially lead to improvements in how radiation therapy is delivered in the future. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and everyone, regardless of gender, is welcome to apply.
