ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on helping nurses who provide care for people living with HIV in South Africa manage stress and prevent burnout. The researchers are testing a program called the Relaxation Response Resiliency Program (3RP), which combines mind-body techniques to support the well-being of these healthcare workers. In the first phase of the study, they gathered feedback from nurses about their experiences with stress, what causes it, and how it affects their work. Now, in the second phase, they will conduct a small study with 8 to 10 nurses to see how well the program works, followed by a larger study with 60 nurses to determine if the program is acceptable and helpful.

To participate in this trial, nurses must have at least one year of experience providing primary HIV care in a public clinic, be able to speak either IsiZulu or English, and be willing to sign a consent form. However, if they have participated in similar therapies in the past year, they won’t be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in a supportive program designed to help them handle job-related stress better and improve their overall well-being. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to create a valuable resource for healthcare workers facing the challenges of their demanding roles.
