ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "D20054; LITT for Spine Tumors" is studying a new treatment option called spinal laser interstitial therapy for patients with metastatic spinal tumors, which are tumors that have spread to the spine from other parts of the body. The goal is to see if this laser treatment can control tumors as effectively as traditional surgery. Researchers are currently looking for participants aged 65 to 74 who have a confirmed spinal tumor located in specific areas of the spine (from T2 to T12) and who have normal neurological function.
To join the study, participants should not have any significant nerve problems, must be able to undergo MRI scans, and should not be pregnant. If eligible, participants will receive the new laser treatment and will be monitored closely for both safety and effectiveness. This trial is important because it could provide a less invasive option for treating spinal tumors, which may lead to better recovery experiences for patients.
