ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how smart socks can help prevent injuries in young football players in Latvia. Lower limb injuries are very common in youth football, making up a large percentage of all injuries. The researchers want to see if using smart textile socks, which provide real-time feedback on foot movements, can help reduce these injuries even further than current warm-up programs. They will first study which features of the smart socks are most helpful and then test whether the feedback from these socks improves injury prevention exercises.
To participate in this trial, players need to be between 14 and 18 years old, play in a youth football league, and speak Latvian. They should not have had any recent surgeries or injuries to their legs. If eligible, participants can expect to engage in training sessions where they’ll wear the smart socks and receive immediate feedback on their movements. This will help researchers understand how effective these socks can be in keeping young athletes safe from injuries while playing football.
