ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how vitamin D levels before surgery might affect pain after surgery in women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Vitamin D is an important nutrient that helps with many aspects of health, and many breast cancer patients have low levels of it. The goal of this study is to see if having enough vitamin D before surgery can help reduce the amount of pain these patients experience afterward.
To participate in this trial, women aged 20 to 65 who are scheduled for a specific type of breast cancer surgery called a modified radical mastectomy may qualify. However, there are certain conditions that would exclude someone from joining, such as if they use strong pain medications regularly, have certain health issues that affect vitamin D levels, or have severe kidney or liver problems. Participants will have their vitamin D levels checked before surgery and will be monitored for pain afterward. This study aims to better understand the link between vitamin D and postoperative pain, which could help improve care for breast cancer patients in the future.
