ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of starting an early exercise program after breast reconstruction surgery for women who have undergone a mastectomy due to breast cancer. The goal is to see how this exercise can help improve shoulder and trunk movement, which are often limited after surgery. Many women experience pain and difficulty moving their shoulders, making everyday activities harder. By promoting early exercise, researchers hope to support better recovery and improve quality of life for these patients.

To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be women aged 19 to 70 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are scheduled for a mastectomy and breast reconstruction. Unfortunately, women over 70, those who have had prior surgeries affecting the same area, or those with certain complications may not qualify. Participants can expect to engage in a structured exercise program shortly after their surgery, and the study will track their recovery progress. This research could play an important role in enhancing recovery strategies for women undergoing breast reconstruction.
