ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (HGSOC), which is a serious type of ovarian cancer that often leads to poor outcomes because it is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage. The researchers will collect samples of ascites, which is the fluid that can build up in the abdomen of patients with this type of cancer. The goal is to create a detailed map of the cells in this fluid, which will help scientists understand how these cells interact and how they might contribute to the disease.
To participate in this trial, women aged 65 to 74 who have been diagnosed with HGSOC and are undergoing surgery to remove tumors may be eligible. Participants will need to provide written consent to join the study. However, individuals who are HIV-positive or have certain viral infections (like Hepatitis B or C) will not be able to participate. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, it aims to gather important information that could help improve treatments and outcomes for women with ovarian cancer in the future.
