ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how specific exercise programs can improve fitness in amputee football players. The researchers want to see if a type of exercise called PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) combined with core stabilization exercises can help these athletes perform better compared to a standard training program. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will do the PNF-based training three times a week for eight weeks, while the other group will do regular weight training. The study will track various fitness measurements, including balance, strength, and endurance, before and after the training period.
To join the study, participants should have at least one year of experience playing amputee football and have a specific type of leg amputation (like transtibial or transfemoral). Those with upper limb amputations, recent surgeries, or certain health conditions won’t be eligible. Throughout the trial, participants can expect to engage in a structured exercise program and have their fitness levels assessed to see how well the training works. It’s an exciting opportunity for athletes to improve their performance and contribute to research that could benefit others in the amputee football community.
