ClinConnect Summary
This study is testing whether using a virtual reality (VR) simulation of a real operating room can lower stress and anxiety in nursing students before they start clinical practice. In this randomized trial, students are assigned to either a Virtual Reality Group or a Control Group with no VR training. The main question is whether the VR practice changes students’ anxiety and stress levels, measured with standard questionnaires after they complete the simulation and during clinical practice.
Eligible participants are adults 18 and older who are in their second year of nursing and have taken a surgical-disease nursing course. Both men and women can join, and about 82 students are planned to enroll. The study is taking place in Ankara, Turkey, at Gulhane Faculty of Nursing. The trial is not blinded (participants and researchers will know which group each person is in), and outcomes will also look at changes in self-confidence using a simple 0-to-10 scale. If you’re considering involvement, you’d need to be willing to participate in all study stages and complete the required assessments.
