ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Integrated Case Management for Burns Care in Pakistan," is designed to see if a special program can help improve care and recovery for people who have suffered from burns. The program includes support sessions to help burn victims and their families cope with the aftermath of the injuries, while also aiming to improve survival rates. Participants will be compared to those receiving standard care, which includes some written self-help advice. The study is currently recruiting participants who are 18 years or older and have experienced an accidental burn injury that requires hospital treatment.
If you decide to join the trial, you will take part in eight sessions led by case managers. Six of these sessions will happen while you are in the hospital or community, each lasting between 30 to 60 minutes, followed by two shorter follow-up sessions. Researchers will check in with you at various points: before the trial starts and then again at three months, six months, and a year after your sessions. It's important to note that this trial is not for those with intentional burn injuries or those who cannot give informed consent. Your participation could help improve burn care for others in the future.
