ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the impact of special group programs designed to help people who communicate with older adults that have hearing loss. Hearing impairment can cause significant challenges not only for the older adults but also for their family members or friends who interact with them daily. These communication partners often feel stressed, face difficulties in their social lives, and may experience feelings of depression. The goal of the study is to see if these group programs can reduce their stress, improve their mental well-being, and enhance their overall quality of life.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and live with an older adult who has hearing impairment, and you should be their primary communication partner. It’s important that you do not have hearing loss yourself, have normal cognitive function, and can communicate in Mandarin Chinese. Participants will be randomly assigned to take part in either the group programs or a control group, which will not receive the intervention. If you join, you can expect to engage with others in similar situations, learn coping strategies, and hopefully improve your experience of supporting someone with hearing loss.
