ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether taking fish oil supplements during pregnancy can help prevent asthma and breathing problems in young children. Researchers believe that giving higher doses of fish oil than usually recommended might reduce the chances of children developing asthma or wheezing issues in their first three years of life. They are currently looking for pregnant women in Denmark who are less than 26 weeks along, have low levels of certain fatty acids in their blood, and do not plan to take fish oil supplements during their pregnancy.
If you qualify and decide to participate, you will receive fish oil supplements to take during your pregnancy. The study aims to see if this nutritional approach can make a difference in the health of your child, particularly regarding respiratory and allergy-related issues. It is important to know that this trial is specifically for women who have no serious health conditions related to their hormones, heart, or kidneys. Your involvement could help researchers learn more about how diet during pregnancy might protect children from developing asthma and other related conditions.
