ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how eating more fruits and vegetables can affect the thinking skills, mood, and attention of children aged 8 to 10 years in Shanghai. Researchers will provide a healthy breakfast every day that includes at least one piece of fruit and one piece of vegetable, along with a weekly box of fruits. The goal is to see if this diet change can help improve children's cognitive abilities, which will be measured using a standard test called the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children. The study will involve 280 children from selected schools and will last for 16 weeks, including a period before the main study, the intervention itself, and a follow-up period.

To take part in this trial, children need to be between 8 and 10 years old and enrolled in the participating schools. Parents or guardians must agree to let their child join and ensure they can eat the provided meals. Children with allergies to the foods being offered or certain health conditions may not be eligible. Through this study, researchers hope to gather important information about the benefits of fruits and vegetables in children's diets, which could lead to better health and well-being for kids.
