ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to manage pain for young boys undergoing surgery for a condition called hypospadias, where the urinary opening is not in the right place. The study will compare a method called the multifidus plane block to another method known as the caudal block, both of which use ultrasound to guide the injections. The goal is to see which method is safer and provides better pain relief during and after the surgery.
To be part of this trial, boys aged 1 to 7 years old who are healthy (classified as ASA I or II) can participate. However, there are some reasons a child might not be eligible, such as having certain spinal issues, mental delays, blood disorders, or infections at the injection site. Parents will need to agree to let their child participate in the study. If they choose to join, the boys will receive one of the two pain management techniques before their surgery, and the doctors will monitor how well it works. This research is important to find the best ways to help children feel comfortable during their medical procedures.
