ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how smoking affects the safety of anesthesia for obese men. Specifically, it looks at how well high-flow nasal oxygen works to keep the airways safe during surgery for these patients. Obesity can increase risks during anesthesia, and this study aims to understand if smoking habits make a difference in how long patients can safely go without breathing after being put under.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be male, aged between 18 and 80, and have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more, which indicates obesity. The study is currently looking for participants who are scheduled for certain types of surgeries that do not involve the chest. However, some individuals, such as those with certain breathing problems or specific health conditions, cannot take part. If you join the trial, you'll have the chance to help researchers learn more about improving safety during anesthesia for obese patients.
