ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special dance program designed for older adults in Hong Kong to see if it can help improve balance and reduce the risk of falls. The dance intervention includes 21 unique dance styles that have been developed specifically for this purpose. Researchers believe that this program can not only lower the number of falls but also enhance balance and address both physical and mental factors that contribute to fall risks. The goal is to compare the effects of this dance program against a control group that will not participate in the dance sessions to see how effective it really is.
To join this study, participants must be 65 years or older and score below 25 out of 28 on a specific balance assessment. However, individuals with certain medical conditions, those who are unable to stand independently for a short time, or those who have previous dance training or are already in another exercise program cannot participate. If eligible, participants can look forward to engaging in fun dance sessions while contributing to important research that could lead to new ways to keep older adults safe from falls. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it promises to provide valuable insights into fall prevention for older adults in the community.
