ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a special treatment called the Shock Wave Technique after surgery for a rotator cuff tear, which is a common shoulder injury. The goal is to see how this treatment helps with shoulder function, pain relief, and overall quality of life for patients who have had rotator cuff repair surgery. The trial is taking place at the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University and involves around 2,600 participants who will have their progress monitored through various assessments, including pain scores and MRI scans.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be diagnosed with a rotator cuff tear that requires surgery and must be able to complete certain physical tests and rehabilitation exercises. However, individuals younger than 17 or older than 75, those with a history of shoulder surgery, or those with severe shoulder damage may not qualify. Participants can expect to be part of a thorough evaluation process where their recovery will be closely tracked, helping researchers understand how effective the Shock Wave Technique is in improving recovery after rotator cuff surgery.
