ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how excess fat around the abdomen, known as visceral obesity, might affect the worsening of kidney disease in people with diabetes, called diabetic nephropathy. Researchers want to see if there is a connection between the two, which could help in finding better ways to manage kidney health for those living with diabetes.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be adults over 18 years old who have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes and have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher, indicating they are overweight. Those who are under 18, have a lower BMI, do not have diabetes, or have certain severe kidney issues won’t be able to join. Participants will undergo assessments and monitoring related to their kidney health and body weight, contributing valuable information to help improve care for others with similar conditions. The trial is not yet recruiting, so there will be more details soon for those interested in participating.
