ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how specific exercises to improve posture might help people with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition that causes heartburn and discomfort in the chest. The researchers want to find out if these exercises can lessen the symptoms of GERD and improve the overall quality of life for those affected. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will do real posture-correcting exercises, while the other group will do similar exercises that are not designed to help (this is called a "sham" intervention). After the treatment, the researchers will compare how both groups feel in terms of their GERD symptoms and quality of life.
To join the study, participants should be between 18 and 60 years old, have been diagnosed with GERD, and have a specific type of spinal curvature known as kyphosis. They also need to have a moderate to high level of GERD symptoms, as measured by a special score. However, people who have had recent back surgeries or injuries, or who do not have the necessary spinal condition, will not be eligible. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it's a great opportunity for those looking for ways to manage their GERD symptoms through non-medical interventions.
