ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different treatments for alopecia areata, a condition that causes hair loss in patches. Researchers want to see how effective an injection of triamcinolone, which is a common first-line treatment, compares to an injection of candida albicans antigen, a newer option. The trial will involve 30 participants aged 6 and older who have a mild form of alopecia areata (with less than 50% of their scalp affected). Participants will have regular check-ups where their hair regrowth will be monitored through pictures and assessments to see how well each treatment works and if there are any side effects.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must have a confirmed diagnosis of alopecia areata and not have received any other hair loss treatments in the past month. It's important that they do not have any other skin issues on their scalp or are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you or someone you know is considering joining this trial, you can expect to receive either of the two treatments and participate in follow-up visits to track your progress. This study is currently recruiting participants, so it's a great opportunity to possibly benefit from new treatment options.
