ClinConnect Summary
The OPTIC Trial is a study focused on improving how we help Indigenous communities dealing with chronic pain and issues related to opioid use. Researchers want to find out how well they can adapt their screening and treatment methods to better fit the needs of American Indian and Alaska Native people. They will also gather opinions from clinic staff and survey patients to understand their experiences with chronic pain and opioid misuse.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an American Indian or Alaska Native who is currently receiving services at one of the clinics involved in the study. You should also be experiencing chronic pain or have issues with opioid use. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to share your experiences and thoughts about the care you receive. This study is currently recruiting participants, and your input could help improve treatment approaches for others in your community.
