ClinConnect Summary
The La CASA Healthy Eating Intervention is a clinical trial aimed at tackling childhood obesity, particularly among Hispanic children. The study seeks to create and test a healthy eating program that works with local Hispanic churches to promote better eating habits. This program, called CASA (Comunidad, Alimentación, Seguridad y Amén), will involve activities like cooking workshops and one-on-one learning sessions to help mothers improve how they prepare meals and encourage their children to eat more fruits and vegetables.
To participate in this trial, you should be between 18 to 45 years old, have at least one child aged 7 to 12, and have lived in the United States for at least a year. You can speak English and/or Spanish. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will receive the CASA program, while the other will not. Everyone will share information about their diet and physical activity during the study. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it's an important step toward addressing healthy eating in families and reducing obesity in children.
