ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called peripheral nerve blocks, which are commonly used to manage pain during and after certain surgeries, especially those involving the arm. The researchers want to find out if using electrical stimulation, in addition to other techniques, can improve the effectiveness of these nerve blocks. Essentially, they are exploring whether this extra step can help provide better pain relief for patients.
To participate in this study, individuals must be planning to have elective surgery on their upper limbs and need a specific type of nerve block called a brachial plexus block. However, there are some important criteria for eligibility. For instance, participants must be at least 18 years old and should not have severe health issues or certain medical conditions, such as chronic pain or infections. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, those who qualify can expect to receive careful monitoring and support throughout the process to help manage their pain effectively.
