ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different levels of oxygen in the blood affect patients with varicose veins who are receiving spinal anesthesia. Researchers are particularly interested in two ways of measuring oxygen levels: the oxygen reserve index (ORI), which can signal low oxygen levels even before standard readings show a problem, and the traditional pulse oximetry method that measures oxygen saturation (SpO2). By using both methods, the trial aims to better understand how oxygen therapy can be adjusted to keep patients safe during and after their procedure, especially since spinal anesthesia can impact breathing.
To participate in this study, you should be between 18 and 75 years old and in good health (ASA I-II), meaning you have no serious medical conditions. However, if you have chronic lung diseases, a history of heavy smoking, or certain other health issues, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to have your oxygen levels monitored in different ways during your treatment. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and your participation could help improve safety for future patients undergoing similar procedures.
