ClinConnect Summary
The Filipino Family Health Initiative 1.0 is a study aimed at helping Filipino parents in California who may be dealing with challenges related to depression, anxiety, and parenting. The trial is testing an online parenting program called the Incredible Years® to see how effective it is in improving parenting skills and child behavior. Families will be divided into two groups: one will participate in the online program, while the other will receive informational materials for three months before joining the program. Researchers will gather information from parents and children at the start of the study, three months in, and again at six months to see how things improve.
To be eligible for this study, parents or guardians need to be of Filipino descent and have at least one child aged 8 to 12 years who speaks English. The program is open to all genders, and pregnant women can also participate if they have a qualifying child. Participants can expect to engage in online training sessions and share feedback about their experiences. This research will not only look at how well the program works but also how it can be delivered effectively in community settings, making it easier for families to get the support they need.
