ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the challenges that patients face when using rectal irrigation, a method that helps relieve constipation and other bowel issues by introducing warm water into the rectum. The trial aims to understand why many patients stop using this treatment within a year, even though it can be helpful for those with defecation disorders, such as constipation and fecal incontinence. To gather insights, the researchers will hold group discussions and one-on-one interviews with people who have either used or decided against using rectal irrigation.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have experienced difficulties with bowel movements. They should have either used rectal irrigation, tried it before, or chosen not to use it after considering it. Participants will share their experiences and thoughts about the treatment. This research is important because it could help improve support for patients dealing with bowel issues and make rectal irrigation more effective for those who need it.
