ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether homemade oral nutrition supplements can help improve the nutritional health of patients on hemodialysis who are experiencing protein-energy wasting, a condition where the body doesn't get enough protein and calories. The researchers will compare these homemade supplements to store-bought ones to see which is more effective and also look at how much each option costs.
To be eligible to participate, you must be between 18 and 70 years old, have been on regular hemodialysis treatment for at least three months, and have a specific score indicating protein-energy wasting. If you join the study, you will take either the homemade or commercial supplements daily for six months, and researchers will check your nutritional status every three months. This trial is a great opportunity to potentially improve your nutrition while helping us learn more about effective treatments for patients like you.
