ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Strengthening Hope After ICU Discharge" is focused on helping patients recover emotionally after spending time in the intensive care unit (ICU). The main goal is to test a follow-up program called the "Hope Intervention," which includes both individual and group discussions held online. These conversations will touch on important topics that can help boost feelings of hope, such as staying active, maintaining social connections, and thinking positively about the future. Researchers will compare the levels of hope in patients who participate in this program to those who do not, to see if it makes a difference.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have spent more than 48 hours in the ICU. They should also be able to communicate verbally after their ICU stay and participate in digital meetings. However, patients with severe cognitive impairment, those who cannot understand or speak Norwegian, or those with serious mental health issues are not eligible. If you or a loved one are interested, this program offers a supportive way to navigate the recovery process and rebuild hope after a challenging time in the ICU.
