ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Vitamin D in Pregnancy for Prevention of Early Childhood Asthma," is studying whether giving higher doses of vitamin D to pregnant women can help reduce the chances of their children developing asthma or other breathing problems during the first three years of life. Researchers believe that increasing the amount of vitamin D might provide better protection against these conditions compared to the usual recommended amount.
To participate in this trial, pregnant women in Denmark must be less than 26 weeks along and have specific levels of fatty acids in their blood. They should not be taking more than the recommended daily amount of vitamin D, which is 400 IU, and must not have certain health issues related to hormones, the heart, or the kidneys. Participants can expect to receive vitamin D supplements and help researchers learn more about the benefits of vitamin D during pregnancy. This study is currently recruiting, so if you meet the eligibility criteria, you could play an important role in this important research.
