ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Chef Anchor 3.0 Program, is looking to see how a cooking program can help older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia, as well as their caregivers. The main goal is to understand if participating in this cooking program can boost the participants' confidence in cooking, improve their cooking skills, and enhance their overall well-being. There will be two groups in the study: one group will take part in the cooking program for 10 weeks, while the other group will wait before starting the program. After the first group completes their 10 weeks, the second group will then participate, allowing researchers to compare results.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be 60 years or older and have been diagnosed with MCI or dementia. They should be able to follow simple instructions and have enough strength to attend cooking workshops. Throughout the program, participants can expect to engage in cooking activities, and researchers will assess various aspects, such as their confidence and satisfaction with cooking, as well as the caregivers' feelings about their loved ones' cooking abilities. This trial aims not only to gather valuable information about the benefits of cooking for individuals with cognitive challenges but also to ensure the program is enjoyable and helpful for both the older adults and their caregivers.
