ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called bioimpedance-guided fluid management to see if it can help reduce complications for patients undergoing hemodialysis, which is a treatment for kidney failure. The researchers want to find out if using bioimpedance analysis—essentially a way to measure body fluids—can lower the risk of serious heart problems and other issues related to hemodialysis.
To participate, individuals need to have been on hemodialysis for at least three months and must have at least one working arm and leg on the same side of their body. Participants in the study will receive a bioimpedance analysis once a month, which will help adjust their “dry weight” (the target weight without excess fluid) to improve their treatment. In some cases, the results of the analysis will be kept hidden from both the patients and their doctors to see how the method works without influence. This trial is open to all genders and is currently looking for participants aged 65 to 74.
