ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Evaluation of Stepping Stones," is studying a program designed to help young people aged 12 to 21 who are at risk of or involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. The goal is to see if the Stepping Stones program can improve their sexual health and relationship behaviors. Researchers will compare two groups: one group will participate in the Stepping Stones program, which includes four in-person sessions over about 6 to 8 weeks, while the other group will receive no information about sexual or reproductive health. The trial will check if the program helps participants get tested for sexually transmitted infections, reduces unprotected sex, and lowers instances of emotional abuse.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should have had vaginal or anal sex in the last three months and should be comfortable reading, speaking, and writing in English. However, those who are currently trying to get pregnant or are detained in a facility are not eligible. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it offers a chance for young people to learn important information that could help them make safer choices in their relationships.
