ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a part of the brain called the claustrum to understand its role and electrical activity in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. The study will involve patients aged between 14 and 65 who have epilepsy that does not respond to standard treatments. To participate, individuals must have had a procedure called stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG), which involves placing electrodes in the brain to monitor its activity, and at least one of these electrodes must reach the claustrum.
Participants can expect to contribute to important research while receiving monitoring as part of their epilepsy treatment. This study is currently recruiting patients, and those who experience complications during the electrode placement will not be included. If you or a loved one has drug-resistant epilepsy and meets these criteria, this trial may provide a chance to learn more about this condition and help advance our understanding of brain function.
