ClinConnect Summary
The "Empowering Young Parents: Building Healthy Relationships Study" is designed to understand how a program called Safe Dates for Young Parents (SDYP) can help young people who are pregnant or parenting. Specifically, this trial is looking at whether the SDYP program can improve sexual and reproductive health, reduce intimate partner violence (IPV), and change how these young parents think about healthy relationships. To find this out, researchers will compare the experiences of those who take part in the SDYP program with those who do not.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be young women aged 14 to 21 who are either pregnant or parenting. They should be comfortable speaking and reading either English or Spanish and be willing to attend group sessions that include discussions, role-plays, and activities aimed at building healthier relationships. Throughout the study, participants will have the chance to share their thoughts and experiences during interviews over the course of a year. This study is currently looking for participants, and it offers a supportive environment to learn important skills for healthier relationships.
