ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the relationship between gum disease (called periodontal disease), the bacteria in the mouth, and the occurrence of repeated miscarriages in women. The study specifically targets women who have experienced three or more miscarriages. During the trial, participants will undergo a routine dental check-up where their oral health will be assessed, and samples of saliva and plaque from their gums will be collected to analyze the bacteria present.
To be eligible for this study, women must have had repeated miscarriages and have at least six natural teeth. However, women who have taken antibiotics, prebiotics, or probiotics within the last month, or those with certain health risks, such as HIV, cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect a thorough dental examination and the collection of samples as part of your regular oral health check. This research aims to better understand how oral health may impact pregnancy outcomes, which could lead to improved care for women facing similar challenges.
