ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of a pain relief method for patients undergoing total hip replacement surgery, a procedure where a damaged hip joint is replaced with an artificial one. Researchers are comparing two groups: one group will receive a standard pain medication called levobupivacaine, while the other group will receive levobupivacaine along with another medication called nalbuphine. The goal is to see if adding nalbuphine will help reduce the amount of morphine needed for pain relief in the first 24 hours after surgery.

To participate in this trial, patients should be between 18 and 75 years old and be in good physical health, as classified by the American Society of Anesthesiologists. However, those with certain health conditions, a high body mass index (BMI), or a history of severe allergic reactions to the medications being tested cannot take part. Participants can expect to receive a comprehensive pain management plan, and their pain levels and recovery progress will be closely monitored after the surgery to determine how effective the treatments are. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve pain management strategies for future hip surgery patients.
